We purchased Rose
Haven in the
fall of
2001. When we first looked at the house, there was a burned out motor
home
in the drive and the house was full
( and I mean FULL) of trash. You
could
see that at one time someone had taken a great deal of time to paper
and
paint, but the past tenants had torn the paper and destroyed much of
the
flooring. There were 5 broken windows and BB's every where.
It took us a solid month
of
working evenings and weekends to make the house habitable. Now that we
are in
our
home, we take it a project at a time and little by little we are
bringing
the house back to it's past beauty.

The gardens are
still a work
in progress
and sometimes the source of great frustration. There are so many
projects
that need to be done and yet others that are long time dreams like the
greenhouse and the Zen water garden. They say that slow and steady wins
the race and I hope that proves to be true. At times I have to look at
the before pictures to see how far we have come. Ken and I are both
hard
workers and know that our vision of Rose Haven will come with a little
sweat and a ton of team work!
