I love fall. This summer
was wonderful, but so busy that there wasn't time to relax and just
"be". I think that's why I'm thrilled that fall is here. Now that the
weather is turning cooler and the weddings have started to slow down,
there's a little time for me to grab my down quilt, get a good book and
a cup
of tea and settle down for some quiet time with Ken and our little dogs.
It seems like fall here in Mapleton sneaks up on me. I'll notice that
the mornings are a bit cooler and start to see small spots of yellow
here and there in the trees along the river and then before you know
it, it's as if someone took paint and pallet and created the most
amazing landscape filled with yellows, oranges and reds just for my
pleasure.
One of my fall projects is cleaning out the window boxes and adding
some ornamental kale and mini pumpkins here and there. We have family
coming the end of October and again in November and I want to make sure
the place looks "dressed" for the season. I love the way the kale looks
so lush and full and it's nice to have that splash of color when
everything else is starting to die down. It's a very inexpensive way to
decorate yet still get that "WOW" from guests.
Frequent visitors to our site might have noticed the other fall project
that I'm in the middle of. A huge re-design of our website. It's
something that's needed to be done for a long time and I hope that you
find the site much easier to use when I'm finished. As if a site is
ever really finished. When I first built the
site in 2002, I knew close to nothing about web design. This entire
website has been a learning experience for me. It seems like it's taken
on a life of it's own. I never thought that I would need a site map,
but now, with several hundred pages, it looks like I do!
This re-design is a very big project and will take some time, so please
be patient while we get the products back up and our shopping cart
working. In the mean time, if you see something that you would like to
order or get a quote on, just send me an e-mail. I promise you, the
new products section will be worth the wait.

reconnect with family and friends. Fall is the perfect time to do just
