One of the first things
that should be
done after the wedding date is set is to determine a budget for your
wedding.
The couple should decide if the ceremony will be formal, semiformal or
informal. It stands to reason that a formal wedding will be the
most
expensive and the informal, the least. In years past there were hard
and
fast rules as to who had to pay for what. Not so in this day and age.
The
burden of paying for the wedding has shifted in recent years from the
shoulders
of the father of the bride, to include the groom's family. And
with
many couples marrying later and having money of their own, some
weddings
are completely paid for by the Bride and Groom.
Though the
rules aren't as
clear as they
used to be, the following table should help with any questions that
arise
as to "Who pays for What?" Remember though; these rules aren't set in
stone
and some compromise is to be expected.
